Fall in love with a GUMIHO

내 여자친구는 구미호 (Nae Yeojachinguneun Gumiho)

Literally means
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho is a romantic-comedy-fantasy Korean drama that was first aired on SBS on August 11, 2010. The main characters of the story are Cha Dae Woong played by actor, singer, model Lee Seung Gi (이승기) and Gumiho/Miho played by Shin Min Ah (신민아).

The crazy love story starts when Dae Woong tries to escape his furious rich grandfather and travels to a distant province from Seoul. He then disembarks into a place of worship as he meets a kind monk who tries to help him. He then accidentally frees a nine-tailed fox who was closed in a painting for about 500 years. The fox then appears in front of him as a beautiful woman whom he wouldn't be able to resist in the future... Dae Woong gets into an accident and the fox tries to help him by giving him her "most precious bead" where she literally gets her strength from. She allows him to use her bead for him to be able to shoot his dream action movie and in return, he must then help her become a human. As time goes by, their mutual relationship will start to grow deeper as they start to fall for each other.

This drama is one of my favorite Korean dramas ever. Aside from the fact that the main character is no less than my bias Lee Seung Gi, his love interest is also totally beautiful and the plot of the story is great! It has the perfect blend of that Romantic-Comedy that we all love love love!

I love how Seung Gi plays the funny guy (which is the total opposite of his character in his previous drama "Shining Inheritance" (찬란한 유산), where he portrayed an appalling image.)
Shin Min Ah,too, did a good job in portraying the role of a fox turned into a human. I love how adorable her character is especially when she craves for beef and uses her charms to get Dae Woong to buy her some meat.

One thing that was not very appealing to me about this drama was it's ending. I don't know why, but Koreans ( I think) are not very good when it comes to producing drama endings. Yes, they do have the ability to get you hooked on their T.V. shows but their skills in making drama endings is another story. Gumiho has a very nice story that will get you hooked but the ending did not really suit my taste. I felt like they could have improved it or they could have added more scenes, more drama, more sweetness... I don't know. I just think the flight-of-steps-reunion for Dae Woong and Miho wasn't much of a success.

None the less, I would absolutely recommend this drama to everyone. Both young and those young at hearts. You will sing with the "doobi doobi doo ah ah" song ♫, laugh ☺, cry
, and fall in love♥ with Woong-ah and Miho-ya. It will remind you that love really does conquer all.
