Tagaytay Weekend Getaway

How do you usually spend weekends? Partying, yes? Me, I'd rather spend it at home in my bedroom. I don't even know what happened to me. I remember being so outgoing when I was younger, but now that I'm older I just want to spend weekends at home. Probably because I know there are lots of things I need to do like blogging, filming and EDITING YouTube videos, etc.

But this weekend, my colleagues invited me to go to Tagaytay for a short road trip. Since I haven't been there for a while, I said yes!

Tagaytay is two-hour drive away from the Metro. My colleagues and I went straight there right after work, good thing it was Friday so no worries about being tired and sleepless.

Our work ends at 11pm. We grabbed some snacks and off we went. Stopped for 2 hours at a gas station along Laguna to catch quick nap then headed to Tagaytay.

It was already 5:30 am when we left the gas station. The sun was rising!

Then came sunshine!

We had breakfast at McDonalds. It's also been a while since I went out this early so I took the opportunity to eat my favorite breakfast meal McDonald's Longganisa Meal! Yummy!
(fyi, Sandara Park also loves this here in the PH. lol)

Then we went to Residence Inn. I went with my friend, Arrienne and  3 more co-workers.

It's not Tagaytay without the horses.

I asked my friends if we could ride the horse.  Whenever I go somewhere, I always make it a point to try something new or exciting. Never mind being tired or sleepy, you could sleep later! But the fun and the opportunity to do it may not come later, that's my motto.
So there I was, doing the Gangam Style while riding the horse. lol!

Ooh, mirror! Time for a self portrait

Every once in a while, it's good to go somewhere to release the stress and just enjoy the nature!

Tagaytay, just like Baguio, is one of the few places in the Philippines where wearing sweater, leggings and boots at 12 in the afternoon is bearable.

Saw some sweet delicacies and decided to buy some for my mom. That brown thing is what my mom used to eat when she was carrying me in her womb. That explains why I have dark skin when she has milky white skin!! lol.

We stopped for a while to smell the flowers. (Actually, our mom companions bought some plants.)

Next destination, Tagaytay Picnic Grove!
Definitely what tourists go to when in Tagaytay!

Taal volcano view.

We went for some trekking

You can also for a little more adventurous and try their Zip Line. It looks like a lot of fun! But one thing I am not very amazed is the changing rate of this 'short' activity. The last time I went here, they only charge Php200 for a one-way ride. That was a year ago. This year, they charge Php400 for the single ride. Really, zip line? 200% in just a year? I wish people's salary also blows just like that.

Anyway, if you have enough courage and extra bucks, then you should definitely try this!

Or you can just opt to go walking then sit on the grass and enjoy the vivid blue sky!

Of course, I chose to take pictures!

We had lunch at Green ATS restaurant. The view was spectacular. Don't you just wish to dine everyday in your kitchen looking outside the window and seeing this view?

And of course, no Tagaytay trip would ever be complete without going home with a box or two of the infamous Colette's Buko Pie! Only Php155 per box.

Crispy outside, soft and chewy inside! Yummy!

And that's how I spent my weekend. It was tiring but was also fun! I can't believe I did so much this weekend. Days are really more sensible when you do something out of the box.

I hope you also enjoyed your weekend! Have you been to Tagaytay, too?
