Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 Review + Swatch

I've been wanting to get an Urban Decay Naked palette ever since it came out, but I couldn't then because I was holding back due to it's price!

After months and months of contemplating, I finally went ahead and splurged buying it.

Here are some photos and swatches.

I also debated with myself whether to get the Naked 1 or Naked 2. I had to read so many reviews and swatches. Some people say 1 is better, some say it's 2. Others say it's better to get both palettes while some say it would be a waste since most colors are identical.

The best review and swatch that I read was from Jen. Thanks to her, I finally decided to get the Naked Palette1. :)

The Naked palette's packaging is really interesting, as Urban Decay has always been with their other products.

It was funnny because one of my friends (who's not into make-up) saw it and actually thought I was holding a chocolate bar. lol.

According to Urban Decay:

"Everybody wants to look good NAKED! Far from a group of boring beige shadows, Naked Palette's long, lean, seductive case is packed with Twelve gorgeous neutrals, and includes our pro-quality Good Karma Shadow Brush."

The palette's size is how you are imagining it right now. I wasn't disappointed with the size and the packaging, it's actually quite amusing. One more thing to like about this palette are the products that come with it.

Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 comes with Good Karma Shadow Brush and Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original.
That's one reason why I chose this over the Naked 2. I have the Primer Potion prior to buying this palette and I have to say the UD's primer really does wonders! I have extremely oily eyelids that make eyeshadow crease like there's no tomorrow. And whenever I use the primer, my eye make-up could almost stay on my eyes forever! It's really a product one will surely love! So, that's one point for Naked 1 for having it free.

Good Karma Shadow Brush
This eyeshadow brush is really good. It could be your go-to brush because it applies shadows so fine. You can use it as an overall brush and blending brush, etc. Another point for Naked palette because it comes with a brush so it's also perfect for traveling and on-the-go gigs.Though, both palettes 1 and 2 come with a free shadow brush.

Urban Decay Primer Potion - Original
The best eye primer, hands down. I only use this potion, especially on special events when my make-up must last long time. It stays vibrant and looking fresh from morning to night. It also makes the colors pop and more pigmented. However, this potion comes in a bottle unlike the new one that comes in tube. This bottle makes the product difficult to dispense, but it's still good.

Swatches :

Here are the 12 amazing colors of the Naked Palette 1.

One more reason why I chose this over the 2 is because the colors range from a really pale, matte shadow to a really funky dark black and sparkly silver shades. I saw that the Naked 2 mostly comes in shimmery  nude/earth toned shades which could be a little dup of each other. But with Naked Palette 1, I'm sure so many fun make-up looks from day look to night look could be created using just one palette.

Closer look!

Naked Palette 1 Price : $50 (+tax) about P2,200 when converted.
It is always cheaper to get products like these directly from the USA.
I tried to canvass before and saw that UD Naked Palette costs more than P3,000-P3,500 here in the PH!

Where to get it : Mine was from JCP but this is also available at Macy's / Sephora
Buy online here

PROS :
  • If you like higher end products, then this is Urban Decay
  • Colors are more fun and differ , when compared to Naked 2
  • Comes with brush and eye primer
  • Colors are really pigmented
  • Variant of matte and shimmery shadows

CONS :
  •  Higher end products means more pricey
  • Not available everywhere
  • Imitated, so you are at risk of buying fake one

I went to Divisoria last weekend and saw that there are fake Naked palette! The packaging is really similar so you might get cheated. The only basis are the shadows. If you haven't seen an actual shadow, you might get lured to buying it since the packaging was perfectly copied. Be careful when purchasing!

For reference, here is a photo of me with the Naked palette 1 on.

The make-up was done by my friend, Arrienne from Mineeh11. Thank you for doing my make-up!! :)

The colors she used were  Naked, Smog, Dark Horse and Creep.

The make-up stayed all day without creasing. I really like it, and I'm sure you will too!

The only thing that will prevent you from buying this product is the price. You might need to bite your lips and close you eyes when purchasing since it's a bit pricey, but once you have it and use it, I'm sure you will love it, too. Pricey products are fine as long as the price is compensated by the good quality. Urban Decay's Naked Palette 1 is really good, no wonder many make-up lovers are so into it!
